Fragments of memories

On December 21, the Triptych Gallery will open a personal exhibition of Konstantin Sapronov, “Fragments of Memories.”

Konstantin Sapronov is a famous, talented Russian surrealist artist, participant of ARTLIFE FEST 2023, participant of numerous group and personal exhibitions. Konstantin’s works are in private collections in Russia and abroad and arouse constant interest and admiration, both among professionals and the general public.

The exhibition “Fragments of Memories” is a dialogue about the past, scraps of paper and fragments of memory.

We keep within ourselves many “fragments of memories,” which can be caused by a variety of emotions, objects, and people. It could be an old photo album or a letter from an old friend, or a familiar melody that sounded in childhood, or scraps of paper that were once lost behind an old parental lacquered chest of drawers.

"Each person keeps in their subconscious their own unique set of "fragments" that help them return to the past and remember what is already gone, causing a slight smile and aching sadness."

In this series of paintings, the artist plays with the theme of "fragments of memories" using a visual image reminiscent of colored paper appliques.
